1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Indiex, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Service.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will notify users of significant changes.

2. Description of Service

Indiex is a platform that tracks and displays metrics for indie and bootstrapped software products. Our services include:

• Public product listings with company information
• Revenue tracking for products that connect via Stripe
• Index rankings (BOOT-100, AI-INDEX, LAUNCH-50, HOT-20)
• Community features including upvoting
• Founder profiles

3. Data Accuracy Disclaimer

3.1 Verified Data

Products displaying the “✓ Verified” badge have connected their Stripe account. Revenue metrics for these products are pulled directly from Stripe's API and represent real, accurate data.

3.2 Estimated Data

For products without Stripe verification, any revenue figures shown are estimates only. These estimates may be based on:

• Publicly available information from Open Startup pages
• Public statements by founders on social media
• Industry benchmarks and comparable products
• Self-reported data submitted by founders (unverified)
• Third-party data sources

Estimated data is displayed with a “~” prefix and should not be relied upon for investment, business, or any financial decisions. We make no guarantees about the accuracy of estimated data.

3.3 No Investment Advice

Indiex is an informational platform. Nothing on this Service constitutes financial, investment, legal, or professional advice. Always conduct your own due diligence before making any decisions based on information from Indiex.

4. User Accounts

4.1 Account Creation

To access certain features (claiming products, submitting new products, connecting Stripe), you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

4.2 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent activity. You may delete your account at any time from Settings.

5. Product Listings

5.1 How Products Are Listed

Products may appear on Indiex through:

• Founder submission — You submit your own product for listing
• Instant Stripe listing — Connect Stripe for immediate, verified listing
• Editorial addition — Our team may add notable products based on public information

5.2 Claiming Products

If your product is listed and you wish to manage it, you can claim ownership by:

• Verifying ownership via email to your product's domain (e.g., you@yourproduct.com)
• Adding a verification meta tag to your website

You may only claim products you legitimately own or are authorized to manage.

5.3 Product Information

By submitting or claiming a product, you represent that:

• You have the right to provide the information submitted
• The information is accurate and not misleading
• The product does not violate any laws or third-party rights
• You consent to public display of the submitted information

5.4 Removal Requests

Product owners can delete their listings from their Settings. If you believe a product is listed without authorization, contact us at hello@indiex.co with proof of ownership.

6. Stripe Integration

6.1 Authorization

By connecting your Stripe account, you authorize Indiex to access read-only revenue data through Stripe's API. We access aggregate metrics only—never customer personal data, card details, or bank information.

6.2 Public Display

You understand and agree that connecting Stripe will make your revenue metrics (MRR, total revenue, growth rates) publicly visible on your product profile and in index rankings.

6.3 Disconnection

You may disconnect your Stripe account at any time from Settings. Upon disconnection, we will stop accessing your Stripe data. Historical data may be retained for index calculations but will no longer update.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Submit false information — Including fake products, inflated metrics, or misleading descriptions
• Manipulate rankings — Creating fake accounts to upvote, using bots, or coordinated voting
• Claim products you don't own — Impersonating founders or falsely claiming ownership
• Scrape data — Automated collection of data without permission
• Interfere with the Service — Attempting to hack, overload, or disrupt Indiex
• Violate laws — Using the Service for any illegal purpose
• Harass others — Targeting founders, users, or staff with abusive behavior
• Spam — Posting repetitive content or promotional material

Violations may result in account suspension, product removal, or permanent ban.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Indiex IP

The Indiex name, logo, website design, and original content are owned by Indiex and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not use our branding without permission.

8.2 User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit (product descriptions, logos, etc.). By submitting content, you grant Indiex a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display and distribute that content on our platform.

8.3 Third-Party Rights

Product names, logos, and trademarks displayed on Indiex belong to their respective owners. Indiex does not claim ownership of third-party intellectual property.

9. Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Accuracy or completeness of information
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement of third-party rights

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INDIEX SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
• Decisions made based on information displayed on the Service
• Actions of third parties or other users
• Unauthorized access to your account

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Indiex, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Content you submit
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any law or third-party rights

11. Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property violations.

You agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis and waive any right to class action proceedings.

12. Modifications to Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice for significant changes that affect your use of the platform.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full effect.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Indiex regarding use of the Service.
